SOPHIE YANG

Sophie Yang was born in Hunan, China. After graduating from Hunan University, she came to the US for her MBA degree from Boston College. Sophie first attended CBCGB in 1997 and joined the Young Professional Fellowship. She accepted Christ in 2006 and started attending Love Fellowship in 2013. By the grace of our Lord she was called to serve in various roles, first in Mustard Seed Sunday school in 2013, then in the Philly Ministry and Awana Ministry. In 2021 Sophie was trained and commissioned as a Stephen Minister in the Stephen Ministry. Currently she is serving as the Awana Director for CBCGB, and in the Philly Ministry as a Sunday teacher.

Besides her participation in church activities, Sophie has also been serving as a member of the board of trustees since 2015 for the May Institute, a not-for-profit organization serving individuals with autism spectrum disorder, brain injuries and other developmental disabilities across their life span (www.mayinstitute.org). Sophie is raising three children (Danielle, Sammy and Jesse) together with her husband of over twenty years, Allan Chen.
