The Chinese Bible Church of Greater Boston (CBCGB) is a nondenominational evangelical Christian church serving the Chinese and English speaking community in the Greater Boston area. Located in Lexington, MA, CBCGB currently has an average attendance of 650 in the Chinese congregation, 250 in the English congregation, 150 in the youth ministry and 150 in the children’s ministry.
The Position
CBCGB’s youth ministry is seeking a male Guys’ Youth Pastor/Minister whose ministry will focus primarily on the male students from 6th -12th grade (with 5 th graders transitioning in Sunday School). He will report to the Senior Pastor and Board of Elders and will work alongside the existing Girls’ Youth Pastor to carry out the vision and goals of the youth ministry.
Ideal Qualifications
Education: MDiv degree from an accredited seminary as well as a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, a Bible college degree, or equivalent experience.
Experience: At least five years’ experience ministering to youth
Language: Fluency in English; ability to speak and converse in Mandarin a plus

Responsiblities
Vision and Strategic Planning
-
Cast Biblical vision for ministry
-
Develop strategic ministry model and plan for spiritual formation of youth through teaching, discipleship and mentoring to develop faith foundations

Work alongside the existing Girls’ Pastor to strategize and develop parent ministry and youth coworker teams
Teaching - ALIVE (fellowship) & Sunday School
-
Plan calendar, curriculum and programs and develop lessons and teaching materials

Recruit, lead, train, pray with and mentor counselors and student servant teams

Coordinate weekly activities and lead small group and Sunday School lessons
Parents
-
Work with parents and parent leaders to develop their relationship with and discipleship of their youth

Lead and teach in parent meetings

Help update and maintain the parent resources wall and create content to help parents

Visit families
Counselor and Servant Teams
-
Oversee recruitment and training of counselors and student servant team

Focus on “becoming” over “doing”

Help counselors and servant team to plan and execute programs and events

Lead counselors and servant team in monthly meetings and engage with them outside of church
Discipleship

Help to develop discipleship program in youth group
-
Recruit and train disciplers of youth

Connect deeply with youth to help them grow in faith and discover God’s call in their lives
Counseling
-
Conduct spiritual restoration and faith counseling through crisis, depression, mental illness, etc.

Meet with students for encouragement and counseling through one-on-one meetings and outside church activities
Youth Missions & Service
-
Select projects and sites and train mission team members

Evaluate, debrief and mobilize prayer base and provide financial accounting
Jr Worship (5th -8th gr)

Exegete and teach Scripture to students
-
Follow assignment on preaching calendar and preach 50% of sermons

Co-lead and train Jr Worship team
Trips & Retreats
-
Plan and execute various trips such as mission trips or retreats, including Junior High and Senior High Winter Retreats, May Retreat, Servant Team Retreat and Counselor Retreat
Administration
-
Set budget, make purchases, process requisitions, update website, update databases, maintain properties, set policies as needed, update liability forms, etc.

Communicate with parents of upcoming activities
Other Areas of Ministry
-
Attend church meetings: Pastoral staff (weekly), Church Council (quarterly), committees on notice, all church-wide events/conference/meetings

Mentor youth ministry seminarians (get accreditation from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary)

Participate in church-wide pastoral ministry - shared duties among CBCGB pastoral staff, including joint services and baptisms

Attend extracurricular school events as time allows
