The Chinese Bible Church of Greater Boston (CBCGB) is seeking a qualified Girls Youth Pastor

The Chinese Bible Church of Greater Boston (CBCGB) is a nondenominational evangelical Christian church serving the Chinese and English speaking community in the Greater Boston area.  Principally located in Lexington, MA with a satellite Chinese speaking congregation in Boston near Boston University, CBCGB currently has an average attendance of 500 in the Chinese congregation, an additional 200 in the Boston satellite (City Outreach Ministry), 200 in Cross Bridge (the English ministry), 100 in the youth ministry and 75 in the children’s ministry.

Position Summary

CBCGB’s youth ministry is seeking a Youth Pastor whose ministry will focus primarily on the female students from 6th -12th grade.  She will report to the Senior Pastor and Board of Elders and will work alongside the existing Guys’ Youth Pastor to carry out the vision and goals of the youth ministry.

​

Main Job Responsibilities

Duties as listed but are not limited to the following:

  • Vision and strategic planning

  • Teaching and coordinating

  • Parent ministry/training/visitations

  • Counselor and servant teams

  • Discipleship

  • Counseling

  • Conflict resolution

  • Youth missions & service

  • Trips & retreats

  • Administration

 

Other Areas of Ministry

  • Church Meetings: Pastoral staff (weekly), Church Council (quarterly), committees on notice, all church-wide events/conference/meetings

  • Mentor youth ministry seminarians (get accreditation from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary)

  • Participate in church-wide pastoral ministry - shared duties among CBCGB pastoral staff, including joint services and baptisms

  • Attend extracurricular school events as time allows

Ideal Qualifications

Education: Masters degree from an accredited seminary as well as a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, a Bible college degree, or equivalent experience.

​

Experience: At least five years’ experience serving youth preferred.

​

Language: Fluency in English; ability to speak and converse in Mandarin a plus.

​

Ministry Style: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team player who is comfortable functioning within a multi-staff, multilingual, culturally ethnic church environment; strong leadership in large-scale ministry; adept at ministering within contemporary cultural contexts.

​

Doctrine: Full agreement with the CBCGB Statement of Faith (please see https://www.cbcgbweb.org/faith-en).

​

Church Membership: Full agreement with the CBCGB Bylaws and Membership Covenant

​

Character: An active, faithful and obedient relationship with Jesus Christ; a passion and genuine love for students; an attitude of versatility, vulnerability and sensitivity; a heart of compassion, a desire to evangelize, disciple students, and edify the church; integrity above reproach; submission to church governance.
