TECHNICAL FAQ

I don’t hear any audio from the live stream.

  • Please make sure your video player is not muted.

  • Please also make sure that your PC, tablet, or cell phone does not have multimedia audio muted.

 

I am trying to use Google Meet to meet with my small group, my Sunday School, or a prayer team member.  How do I join the meeting?

  • If you are on a PC or MAC, just click on the meeting link in your browser.

  • If you are using a mobile device, you will need to install the Hangouts Meet app from the Google Play store or the iTunes store before clicking on the meeting link.

    • Note that a list of all fellowship video-conference links is forthcoming.

  • After clicking on the link, you may be prompted to make sure that your browser or app has access to your speakers, microphone, and camera.

  • After giving permission to your audio/visual devices, click on “Ask to join”.  Please wait until your small group leader or Sunday School teacher accepts you into the meeting.

 

Google Meet doesn’t seem to work with my browser?

  • Browsers that are known to be compatible: Google Chrome

  • Browsers that are known to be incompatible: Microsoft Edge, Safari

 

I am a small group leader or Sunday School teacher.  How do I create a Google Meet meeting?

  • Please first contact it@cbcgb.org to request an account with CBCGB.

  • Once you have the account:

    • If you are using a PC

      • Go to https://meet.google.com.  On the top right corner of the webpage, there should be a link to Log in (or Switch Account) to log in with the credentials provided for you.

      • After logging in, click “Join or start a meeting”.

      • You will be prompted enter a meeting code or nickname.  Either leave this blank or enter a unique nickname and click “Continue”

      • After clicking on the link, you may be prompted to make sure that your browser or app has access to your speakers, microphone, and camera.

      • After giving permission to your audio/visual devices, click on “Join now”.

      • On the bottom left of the meeting, click the button “Meeting details”.  These are the details you can use to send the meeting information to others.  Please also share with Melissa from fellowship core so that the link can be distributed in case members of your group are having a hard time finding it.

      • As people ask to join your meeting, you will be prompted to accept them into the meeting.

    • If you are using a mobile device:

      • Open up the Hangouts Meet app.

      • Click the hamburger button icon at the top right of the app and sign in with the credentials provided for you (by adding another account if needed).

      • Once logged in, click the “+” button to start a new meeting.

      • Once in the meeting, click the button that looks like an “i” with a circle around it.  You will be shown the details you can use to send the meeting information to others. Please also share with Melissa from fellowship core so that the link can be distributed in case members of your group are having a hard time finding it.

      • As people ask to join your meeting, you will be prompted to accept them into the meeting.
